A Night to Remember: The Launch of the ‘Our Swansea, Our Stories’ Exhibition

 

On 19th November, the National Waterfront Museum in Swansea came hosted the launch of the RACE COUNCIL CYMRU ” Our Swansea, Our Stories” exhibition. This inspiring event brought together community members, changemakers, and supporters to celebrate the resilience, diversity, and achievements of Swansea’s vibrant community.

 

An Evening of Stories, Community, and Connection

The event showcased over 20 incredible stories of individuals who have overcome challenges, contributed to the community, and inspired change.

The celebration wasn’t just about the stories – it was about the experience. Guests enjoyed delicious food, fostering an atmosphere of warmth, sharing, and connection.

 

Stories That Shape Our City

The exhibition showcases remarkable journeys, including:

  • Dr. Ankita Jain , a Paediatric Consultant promoting cultural understanding in healthcare

  • Jacob Henry, whose youth development work is transforming young lives

  • Mojisola Olateju, dedicated to community service and healthcare

  • Sithembinkosi Sibanda, whose entrepreneurial spirit has created opportunities for others

 

Key Highlights from the Evening

  • Inspiring Exhibits: Story panels drew attendees into the unique journeys of featured individuals.

  • Community Connection: Attendees engaged in meaningful conversations while enjoying a curated selection of food and refreshments.

  • Celebrating Diversity: Speeches and activities emphasised the importance of inclusivity and the power of representation.

The exhibition will run at the National Waterfront Museum, SA1 3RD, from 19th November to End of January 2025. showcasing these powerful stories that deserve to be heard. Each visit offers a chance to:

  • Be part of our city’s evolving narrative
