INVITATION TO THE LAUNCH OF RCC’s RACE EQUALITY AND RACISM IN WALES REPORT

You are cordially invited to the launch of the Race Equality in Wales Research Report commissioned by Race Council Cymru (RCC) and undertaken by Professor Heaven Crawley (Director of the Centre for Migration Policy Research at Swansea University). This research was funded by Awards for All and The Cooperative Cymru.

DATE: Friday, 23rd of November, 2012
TIME: 10.30am – 3pm followed by RCC’s AGM which will finish at 4.30pm
VENUE: The Pierhead Building, Cardiff Bay. CF99 1NA
SPONSOR: Julie Morgan AM

The report reveals the findings of the exploratory research on the experiences of people from black and minority ethnic (BME) backgrounds across Wales. During this research, baseline data was collected and this will be used to identify the key priorities for promoting good race relations in the Welsh context.

Professor Crawley will be giving a detailed presentation of her findings, with the opportunity for questions afterwards.

Alongside Professor Crawley’s presentation, our chairperson Judge Ray Singh CBE, Dame Margaret Anstee (former UN peacekeeping envoy and UN Under-Secretary-General) will deliver a keynote address at the event. There will be other speakers at the event. Our sponsor Mrs Julie Morgan AM will open the afternoon session. This Report launch event will be highly impactive.

Please register for a FREE place by emailing [email protected] with your name, email address, contact phone no, organisation (if relevant) and any individual requirement before the 19th of November, 2012.

Please note that places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

For any additional information, please contact RCC on 07765854274

Also, please note that lunch will not be provided so kindly make your arrangements for lunch.
