About the Role

To work in partnership with the South Wales Arts Director to deliver RCC’s Black History Creative Arts five-year strategy across Wales as part of our BHCymru 365 plan.

To support the BHMW events programmed for 2019 in North Wales and to manage the current BHC365 programme delivery for 2019-20 in Bangor & Wrexham.

To develop further RCC’s current links with Arts organisations and creatives across North Wales and to develop new partnerships for 2020 onwards.

To source funding and sponsorship opportunities to support these new partnerships within projects, programmes and creative Arts events to progress the BHW Creative Arts Strategy.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • To identify, develop and maintain new relationships with arts professionals (venues, organisations and individuals) that will enable us to satisfy our BHCymru 365 aspirations
  • To identify, develop and maintain new relationships with potential funders/ sponsors for our BHCymru 365 activity
  • To identify and apply for grants, foundations and trusts that could fund BHCymru 365 activities
  • Be actively involved with external organisations, forums and networks to increase the visibility of RCC in the arts world
  • To work in partnership with the BHW programme administrator to successfully manage all administrative and financial duties associated with the role
  • To represent RCC at meetings and events in Nth Wales
  • To participate in regular team meetings
  • To facilitate meetings with new strategic partners and grassroots level partners
  • To participate in training and development as required
  • To work safely, and in accordance with the RCC code of conduct and confidentiality agreement
  • To work respectfully with RCC staff, volunteers and community members, boards and BHW steering and management committees and stakeholders
  • Any other duties which may be required for this post

Additional information

The role is to support Arts development across North Wales, and the expectation is that the person appointed will work flexible hours based on 22.5 hours per week. The role will require occasional weekend and evening working.
