On 22 June 2022, we joined communities up and down in the country in celebrating the contributions made by the Windrush Generation and their descendants as we officially recognised Windrush Day.

The first of our Windrush Generation landed on our shores on this day 74 years ago and we honour the legacy of each and every person and their descendants who accepted the invitation to come and help rebuild Britain. These invaluable contributions made within our communities are immeasurable and we continue to grown from them as they strengthen and shape the society we live in.

As we look towards the 75th anniversary next year, let’s continue to listen to each other’s stories and to learn from each other.
