The event was a celebration, showcasing the talent of musicians from within Race Council Cymru’s network highlighting Merthyr born Edaeth, touching speeches from the Windrush Elders and Merthyr Tydfil’s Mayor, Howard Barret.
The event was hosted in the Engine House, a place of historical significance for the Merthyr Tydfil community with a history of supporting various community groups and European immigrants, currently being developed by Merthyr Councillor David Hughes. Attendees included Dawn Bowden (AM), Howard Barret (Mayor), Councillor Julian Amos, Councillor Chris Davies and Councillor David Hughes. During the closing networking section of the event, Councillor Chris Davies committed to the ongoing support of Race Council Cymru’s work in Merthyr Tydfil.
